Q: I have had debilitating health anxiety since childhood (currently 48yrs. old). I’ve been on nearly every medicine, years of therapy,,, etc. Am disillusioned at the thought of sitting in another therapists office and talking week after week without any plan to help me get past the terror that hangs around in my head. Your treatment center and philosophies seem well researched and practical. What you describe makes sense to me for the first time. How do I find a therapist that aligns with your treatment plans in my area? It is very frustrating scrolling through provider bios for hours on end while my world gets smaller and smaller and hopelessness closes in. Thank you

A: Our health anxiety clinic meets as part of the Anxiety and Phobia Center at White Plains Hospital. You can contact them. Perhaps you have seen my book, “Worried Sick? A guide to the treatment of health anxiety.” That might be helpful.
